ABOUT OUR CLUB

We are an Australian football club created for and led by women and gender diverse people. Our club places women, girls and gender diverse people as our central focus rather than an add-on to a male-focused club.

At the core of the Falcons is a mission to get women and gender diverse people playing footy and bringing a welcoming community together. A community where all people can thrive.

At the Mt Alexander Falcons, we’re signatories to the AFL Women and Girls Charter because we believe in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone. This aligns with our commitment to empowering women, girls and gender diverse people in sport, providing opportunities for them to thrive both on and off the field.

By supporting the Charter, we aim to:

  • Promote gender equality in our community.

  • Inspire the next generation of athletes and leaders.

  • Ensure football is accessible, enjoyable, and rewarding for all participants.

Djaara (Dja Dja Wurrung people) have lived on traditional lands and cared for djandak (Country) over many thousands of years.

The Mount Alexander (Leanganook) Falcons acknowledge that we train and play on land that belongs to its Traditional Owners.

We recognise their continued connection to the land and waters of this beautiful place, and acknowledge that they never ceded sovereignty. We pay respect to their Elders past and present.

We recognise what we now call "Aussie Rules" has its roots in the Gunditjmara game of Marngrook. Our game always was and always will be a First Nations game.
